DTL and NMC sign cooperation agreement

The Netherlands Metabolomics Centre (NMC) and the Dutch Techcentre for Life Sciences (DTL) have entered into a strategic cooperation agreement. There ia a great deal of synergy between the organisations, since they are both active in the field of data (pre)processing, development and implementation of international standards, modelling and data-integration. Rob Hamer, director of Unilever Research Vlaardingen and chairman of the NMC foundation, “The main driver for this cooperation is our strategic fit. NMC and DTL will work together in all aspects of DTL: in the Data, Technologies and Learning programme. In Europe, more and more emphasis is put on the cross-technology applications of advanced technology and data research infrastructures across life science sectors, and alignment with ESFRI initiatives like ELIXIR and BBMRI. DTL as node of Elixir-NL is ideally positioned for this. Furthermore, there is a lot of efficiency to be gained from working together. NMC and DTL will be sharing offices and expertise. This means that in the end more money can be put into research.”
