SME event well visited by industry

ELIXIR, Wageningen University, and DTL held a successful two day ELIXIR Innovation and SME Forum in Wageningen on 18-19 March 2015. Eighty delegates attended the interactive two-day event, including over 50 companies. Large industry users such as Bayer, Syngenta and FrieslandCampina were present, and smaller plant breeding and food companies like Enza Zaden, Bejo Zaden and Nizo. Furthermore the meeting was attended by IT companies (i.e. Microsoft) and the research-intensive SMEs Keygene, Genetwister and EdgeLeap.

Chair and host Richard Finkers of Wageningen University on the outcome of the forum: “I am delighted that such a large number of companies joined the meeting. This is testament to the importance of a high-quality public infrastructure for life science data. I am equally pleased that there was such deep interaction and discussion between delegates during the two days and I am confident that it will lead to further collaboration between industry and academia.”
