25 April 2017: Workshop Future of Metabolomics in ELIXIR

ELIXIR-NL and ELIXIR-DE are jointly organising a one-day strategic workshop on the ‘Future of Metabolomics in ELIXIR’ on 25 April 2017 at Frankfurt Airport in Germany. This is done in collaboration with the PhenoMeNal H2020 e-infrastructure project and the Netherlands Metabolomics Centre.

The programme is designed to allow same-day travel in and out. The workshop will build on the outcomes of a similar workshop of the proteomics community on 1-2 March 2017 in Tübingen (Germany). In the follow-up of the workshop, we intend to interact synergistically with the proteomics community as well.

Workshop Description
ELIXIR is a distributed infrastructure for life science information, bringing together European resources such as databases, software tools, training materials, cloud storage, and supercomputers. The goal of the workshop is to identify the main needs of the metabolomics community (at different levels) in the context of a life science computing related infrastructure. Ideally, this will result in a Use Case in the ELIXIR work programme 2019-2023 and an Implementation Study in 2018 to kick-start the initiative to reap low-hanging fruits. The workshop will be co-hosted by Rafael Jimenez (CTO ELIXIR) and members of the metabolomics community.
