BioSB Faculty Group
The Netherlands Bioinformatics and Systems Biology Research School (BioSB) has been highly active as a national community of experts in bioinformatics and systems biology, with our course programme, hot topics sessions and our yearly community conference as important activities. To increase and accelerate the impact of our disciplines we established the BioSB Faculty Group, a strategic group of PI’s and other permanent staff across the Dutch research community.
The main role of the Faculty Group is to serve as a sounding board for the BioSB Community Board and Education committee. The Faculty Group may also be consulted regarding strategic issues at the national level, including scientific agenda setting, ambassadorship or specific lobbying activities. Here, we aim to optimize the position of the bioinformatics and systems biology community in the framework of national developments towards the Roadmap large-scale research infrastructures (GWIs), the NWO LIFE research Open Science, Thematic Digital Competence Centres (TDCCs), , Growth Fund, sector plans, etc.
The BioSB Faculty group was launched on May 8, 2023.
- The next (online) meeting is scheduled for November/December 2025.
- The next LIVE meeting will be organized prior to the BioSB 2026 conference, i.e. on May 11, 2026 starting at 18:00 (Kasteel de Berckt, Baarlo).
