Founded in 1987 by Dr. Einar Fredriksson, IOS Press started off publishing mostly computer science and artificial intelligence books and journals. At the end of the ‘90’s the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease was established, which is still thriving. In recent years more titles in neurosciences have been launched, such as the Journal of Parkinson’s Disease and the Journal of Huntington’s Disease. IOS Press has stayed true to its roots and to this day publishes many AI and computer science journals, including the Semantic Web journal, which is at the forefront of technological innovation and maintains a strong network. IOS Press considers the combination of its expertise in both the life sciences and computer science as a strong asset for success in academic publishing.
