The research group Analysis techniques in the Life Sciences (ALS) performs research in the broad filed of Life Sciences. Our research groep aims at helping life science professionals with their research questions in the field of Food, Pharmacy, Health and Forensic Sciences, with a emphasis on tailor maid treatments.
The focus of our research group is using new developments in metabolic profiling, allergen- and biomarker research. In order to answer there research questions our research group is specialized in separation techniques including liquid chromatography in combination with mass spectrometry. Futhermore, our research group uses different cellular, biochemical and molecular biological techniques to solve research questions on small molecules and biomolecules (proteins and DNA). Finally our research group is specialised in chemometric techniques (e.g. multivariate data analysis techniques) to get as much information out of our data as possible.
Our research group can answer analysis questions for small and medium business partners and the public sector. Our students are introduced to modern techniques and their applications. Teachers develop skills through participation in projects, attending courses and PhD research projects.
