Multivariate statistical analysis plays an important role within food sciences.
Date: Dec 5 – 11, 2014
Target audience: The target group consists of PhDs from the Food Science cluster within AFSG but also other PhDs can register. Participants are expected to have knowledge of basic statistics (like hypothesis testing, correlation and linear regression) and some experience in a statistical package (SPSS or likewise).
Program: Each day consists of lectures and practicals using SPSS (depending on possibilities of SPSS given the techniques). Examples of datasets delivered by the course participants in advance will be used in the lectures and practicals when possible.
Day 1: data pre‐treatment, PCA and PCR
Day 2: PLS and correspondence analysis
Day 3: Cluster analyses (k‐means, hierarchical clustering)
