Pre-retreat course – the DO’s and DON’Ts of dealing with Big Data

Since the seminal publication ‘why most published results are false‘ (Ioannidis, 2005) researchers have toiled with the question how to analyze their data and how report on the significance of their research. It is important that biomedical researchers understand the critical reasoning of Ioannidis and have insight in the relation of statistical significance and reproducibility of results.

Are you:

  • Trying to make biological sense of statistical significance?
  • Battling with Big Data?
  • Looking for direction in dealing with “OMICS”?
  • Curious about clinical appeal of systems biology?
  • or any combination of the above?

Then join us for an afternoon on p values and high-dimensional data analysis!

The course precedes the Rolduc Human Genetics Retreat (April 21st -22nd) and is therefore referred to as the Pre-Retreat Course. Those interested may register for either one or both courses.
