RDNL course GDPR 4 Data Support

Helping researchers work with personal data is an important, and often stressful, part of a data supporter’s job. The new RDNL course GDPR 4 Data Support introduces the main concepts of the GDPR and explains the steps that need to be taken to protect the privacy of research participants throughout the research lifecycle. You can already get started with the online materials, which are available for free.

If you want to delve deeper into the GDPR, practice with actual cases involving personal data, and meet experts and other data supporters you can now also register for the first round of the course! This involves attending three sessions (two two-hour sessions and one four-hour session) and working on an assignment. The registration fee is EUR 895 (plus VAT).

The instructors for this course are Marlon Domingus, the Data Protection Officer at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, and Miriam Beusink, from the ELSI Service desk of Health-RI, with help from Emilie Kraaikamp, Legal Support Officer at DANS. The online content and the sessions will be in Dutch.

9, 16, and 30 May 2022

Where?

The first two sessions will take place online. If there is interest, it is possible to hold the third session in-person at the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
