BioSB 2015 – Dutch Bioinformatics & Systems Biology conference

Merging two research fields

BioSB 2015 will be the first in a series of yearly organised Dutch Bioinformatics & Systems Biology (BioSB) conferences focusing on both bioinformatics and systems biology research. This year the conference will be co-organised by the BioSB research school and the Utrecht Bioinformatics Center.

Familiar concept

The conference combines the annual community meetings formally organised by NBIC and SB@NL/NCSB. Although the name is new, the concept of the conference is comparable with the NBIC conference: 2-day conference (May 20-21, 2015) with keynote speakers, parallel meetings, poster sessions and a nice evening programme. On May 19 several satellite meetings and workshops are being planned. We will strive for a programme consisting of 50% bioinformatics & 50% systems biology!

Invited speakers

First confirmed keynote speakers at the conference are:

  • Terry Hwa, U.C. San Diego
  • Paul de Bakker, Medical Genetics, Utrecht UMC
  • Jill Banfield, U.C. Berkeley
