On March 9-10 2017 (from lunch to lunch) we will organise a workshop on “Establishing a node for FAIRifying metabolomics and phenomics data in the European Open Science Cloud” in Leiden, the Netherlands. This is a joint workshop of PhenoMeNal and the GO FAIR initiative, led by Barend Mons, the former chairman of the European High-level group on the European Open Science Cloud. At the end of the workshop, from 13.30 to 15.30 on March 10th we will launch one of the first nodes in the European Open Science Cloud, for FAIRifying metabolomics and phenomics data. This workshop is open for all NMC-partners.
The programme of the workshop was designed in interaction with Claire o’Donovan (EBI), Chris Steinbeck (Jena), Jake Pierce (Imperial) and Barend Mons (Go FAIR).
In this workshop the following topics will be discussed:
* How FAIR are metabolomics and phenomics data and how FAIR is the Metabolights repository?
* What can you do once you have FAIRyfied data, what are use cases?
* Actions once we have established the node for FAIRyfing data in the European Open Science Cloud
We will also invite Linked Data experts and Members of the Metabolomics community outside the PhenoMeNal consortium. If you have particular persons you would like to invite in your country for strategic reasons, do not hesitate to pass on this invitation. However bear in mind, that participants need to cover their travel and accommodation from their own expenses. Participation in the workshop and the workshop dinner are free of charge.
