Tobias Kuhn is an assistant professor in the Computer Science Department at VU University Amsterdam. He is interested in socio-technical systems, in particular the Web and the system of scientific communication and collaboration, and he investigates how software tools can help us to better organize human knowledge. In recent years, he has focused on the concept of nanopublications and how it can be applied to improve scientific publication practices. He received his PhD at the University of Zurich in 2010 for his dissertation on controlled English and knowledge representation. He previously worked at Yale University, University of Malta, and ETH Zurich, and he was a visiting researcher at Stanford University, TU Dresden, and the University of Chile.
