Biobanking catalogue Interest Group

The Biobanking catalogue Interest Group facilitates sharing of data and improves the use of biological samples collected in biobanks through catalogues. To achieve this, we apply the FAIR principles. The group focusses on development and sharing of tools and common standards to facilitate the interchange of data at all levels, ranging from the descriptive (level 1) biobanks catalogues to the detailed (level 4) study catalogues. We have strong links with the biosemantics and standardisation efforts in biobanking in the Netherlands and Europe.

Members of the working group come from BBMRI, Parelsnoer, CTMM TraIT, and the UMCs.
