DANS (Data Archiving and Networked Services) is the Netherlands institute for permanent access to digital research resources. The main mission of DANS is to encourage and support researchers to make their digital research data and related outputs Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR). To achieve its mission, DANS provides expert advice and certified services. The DANS core services accommodate DataverseNL for short-term data management, EASY for long-term data archiving, and NARCIS, the national portal and information backbone for scholarly data and publications. Apart from the technical services, DANS offers standard and customised training and consultancy sessions.
DANS participates in (inter)national projects, networks and research infrastructures and actively supports the development of an innovative, shared, global scientific data infrastructure.
DANS was founded, and is supported, by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), and The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).
